September 16 & 17

“NC Gold Rush” & Opening Fall Festival Weekend

For ultimate fall festival fun, join Hubb’s Farm this fall as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary! And did you know the first gold rush happened right here in NC?  This year’s fall festival and maze celebrates North Carolina’s rich gold history with a NC Gold Rush themed “Corn” Maze with three challenging trails. Be sure to visit our new Pay Dirt Pete’s Gem Mine and Gold Panning, too!  Young children and young at heart will enjoy ever-popular giant slides, train rides, Cranky the Combine rides, and old fashioned outdoor games like giant checkers, and hay rides to Animal Acres.   Did I mention food? Farm guests will surely enjoy the good ol’ fashion fun foods such as Hubb’s Doughnuts, Carmel Corn Nuggets, Roasted Corn and Pa’s Kitchen for a good Ol’ Made in NC Bright Leaf Hotdogs and more!  So… come on down to Hubb’s Farm and “Be a Kid” again and have some good old fashion fun beginning September 16.

 *Saturday – we welcome Falcon Children’s Home and give a big shout out and thank you to Hickory Grove Baptist Church for providing lunch for FCH.

September 23 & 24  "Hay Bale Fest"

Hay Hay Hay! On Saturday & Sunday farm guests will have an opportunity to join in some hay bale fun and discover what hay is all about during our Hay Bale Fest!  Along with our hay rides, miniature hay bale maze, hay bale garden, and farm equipment, farm visitors will also have a chance at some fun hay bale challenges.  Keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for more details on the upcoming Hay Bale Decorating Contest, too! Decorated Hay Bale contestants will compete to win $100 and bales will be displayed at the farm all fall season for visitors to view! Hay, Hay, Hay may just pay!

And on Sunday, Sept. 24, be sure to come out and see the Sam The Magic Man show at 3 PM (included in all paid admission tickets)!

September 30 & October 1

"First Responder's" Weekend

“First Responders” Weekend honors our first responders and their dedication to serving others daily.  These men and women often risk their lives in order to save the lives of others.  Be sure to stop by and give a “thank you” shout out to our special guests on this weekend.  Unless duty calls, there will be several agencies present for example- Sampson County’s Emergency Response, Sampson County’s Law Enforcement, and Herring Fire Dept.  Also, we hope to have a visit from our favorite Law Enforcement K-9 with a demonstration.    Again, let’s all show support for our First Responders as they are our hometown heroes” everyday!  Demonstration Times TBA.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, The Blood Mobile will be on-site for blood donations from 12 PM to 5 PM.  Blood donors will receive a free corn maze pass. Donors may register on-site or preregister on-line. www.savingliveslocally.org

 

ALL First Responders with the their appropriate ID will get a free bronze pass with any other pass purchased. Free pass can be used toward an upgrade.

 

 

October 7 & 8   “Thank a Farmer”

Ag Weekend & Overalls Pageant

One of the most important careers in the world is farming.  Going to the grocery store is easy, so we may not always think about the sweat and tears that the farming community experiences as they grow America’s food.  “Thank a Farmer“ Ag Weekend is set-aside to remind us all to take the time to appreciate the importance agriculture plays in our everyday lives.  Say “thank you” to a farmer today for accepting this awesome responsibility of working the land and producing food for the world.  Farm guests will experience a bit of farm life while at play at Hubb’s Farm this weekend and on Saturday afternoon from 1 PM to 5 PM, will have the opportunity to see tractor displays and meet NC’s Tallest Scarecrow from East Coast Giants, Slim the Scarecrow!  And remember, “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch a fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.”

 

If you wear overalls on Saturday, Oct. 7 and/or Sunday, Oct. 8, you will receive $1 off on your admission.

 

The Overalls Pageant will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 4 PM.  There is no registration fee and it is included with your Hubb’s Farm admission. You must be registered before 3:30 PM to compete.  For overalls pageant details coming soon.

 

October 14 & 15

"Pirate Invasion" Weekend

AYE Matey! Don’t miss the Pirate Invasion Weekend! Old melodies will fill the air as The Motley Tones (singing pirates) will be at Hubb’s Farm on Saturday from 1 PM to 5 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, meet living history pirate reenactors, The Cannon Crew.  The Cannon Crew will have an awesome encampment that will be sure to intrigue children and adults alike. Cannon demonstrations, too!!!  So, gather your crew and pirate gear and head on down to Hubb’s Farm for Pirate Invasion Weekend, just be sure to hold on to your gold and gems!

 

Also on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 12 PM to 5 PM, NY Life will be on-site with their Kid ID Station …great for children to have a current ID!

 

October 21 & 22

"Freedom USA" Weekend

Courage is defined as mental or moral strength to venture, persevere, and withstand danger, fear or difficulty.  Join Hubb’s Farm as we salute our courageous veterans, military and military families during “Freedom USA” Weekend.  Our men and women in uniform and their families deserve utmost appreciation for their daily sacrifices.  Visit with the Sampson County’s Veterans Office and Devry University information stations from 1 PM to 5 PM.

The Scarecrow Express

Upon sunset, children age 12 and under along with a parent may board The Scarecrow Express train ride. This is the ideal non-scary but fun Halloween event for younger children.  The last Scarecrow Express all aboard call will be made at 8:30 PM so be sure to arrive early.

 

October 28 & 29

"Halloween At Hubbs”  Weekend

On Saturday, October 28, from little goblins on up, Hubb’s Farm is the ultimate Halloween “non-scary” fall fun place to be.  Little goblins ages 10 and under, may register for the Halloween Costume Contest between 1- 3:30 PM, Contest begins at 4 PM.  And yes…there will be tricks and treats between 1 - 5 PM.   And “get lost” in the past dark flashlight maze.  Upon sunset, children age 12 and under may board The Scarecrow Express.  This is the ideal non-scary but fun Halloween event for younger children.  The last Scarecrow Express all aboard call will be made at 8:30 PM so be sure to arrive early. On Saturday at 3 PM, Power’s Flying Services will thrill all spectators with a ping pong ball drop fly-over. Ages 12 and under will have the opportunity to collect the ping pong balls, 10 of which will be special prizes!  On Sunday, at 3 PM, Sam the Magic Man will entertain farm guests with an audience interactive magic show.  Whatever your age, Hubb’s Farm will live up to your “gotta have” expectations when dark closes in and the fields come alive!!!

 

Saturday, November 4

Tough As A Farmer

Competition

So you think you’re tough??? Hubb’s Farm will be holding its 3rd Annual “Tough as a Farmer” Competition on Saturday, November 4.  Once you’ve completed this agricultural themed (Farm Ninja Warrior) challenge, you will surely know the true hidden tasks every farmer must face.  “Tough as a Farmer” will test you physically and mentally.  So…let’s see just how tough you really are!!!  Tough As A Farmer Competition will begin at 2 PM.  Women contestants will start and then the men contestants will follow.  Registration online will begin September 15 and will be $35 through October 31.  After October 31 Registration will be $40.  Registration includes a Tough As A Farmer T Shirt, the Competition and a Silver Pass entry for Hubb’s Corn Maze.

The 1st and 2nd place contestants in both Men and Women divisions will win a prize.  The 1st place prize is $500 and 2nd place prize will be $250.

 

 Tough As A Farmer rain make-up date is Sun., Nov. 5.

 

Sunday, November 5

“Smashing Pumpkins” Sunday

 

Oh yes!!! As Fall comes to an end, why not go out with a BIG SMASH!!! On Sunday, November 5, Hubb’s Farm guests will have the opportunity to smash pumpkins (while supplies last).  So be here early. Open on Sundays from 1 pm to 6 pm

"Last Dance" Saturday

Hubb’s Farm invites you, your family and friends as we say so long to our Fall Festival Season.  Sit back and enjoy a fun filled day with your families and friends.  We call it the last dance because we are all so excited to have had a wonderful season and are preparing for our Christmas Season.
